Is Facebook down? -- and it's back

I'd say that, but Messenger is useful for communicating with Android folks overseas, since I don't pay for data plans in the UK. My mom wants to stay in touch but she has an Android, so Messenger it is. You only need wi-fi for iPhone to iPhone messages since they're not technically texts.

Which is entirely Apple's fault, for the record.

At least Apple is finally caving and adding RCS to iMessage. Should have been done years ago, but they know their walled garden strategy is all they've got.

I realize FB gets criticized a lot, but it is still a good way to maintain contact with people I care about.
Caveat: blessed to not have many "friends" who post about politics.
 
Most of all, though, Facebook/Messenger are the primary email resources and community contacts for most people these days, right? If they went away, it's tough to rebuild all those contacts and connections.
