A brief explanation. My Christmas present from my wife was the opportunity to be disc jockey for one hour on the local nonprofit radio station on Martha's Vineyard, which you can do in return for a contribution of medium generous size. Station's music tastes are dead aimed at the aging hippie demo. Also, it is the Vineyard, so a lot of sensitive folkish stuff, but much stuff normal people like, too. I'm going to give them two genres, country and
western. Just off the top of my head I've got more songs than I'll have time for, but trusting in the wisdom of crowds I'll open this thread for suggestions because I'm sure to have missed a don't miss entry.
PS: If your suggestion is from the 21st century, don't bother.

Thanks in advance.

Carl Perkins - How I Got to Memphis
Guy Clark - LA Freeway
Emmylou Harris - Boulder to Birmingham
Johnny Cash - Cocaine Blues
Junior Brown - My Wife Thinks You're Dead
Billy Joe Frazier - Georgia on a Fast Train
Marty Robbins - El Paso
Woody Guthrie - Worried Man Blues
Robert Earl Keen - Five Pound Bass
John Prine - Fish and Whistle
The Byrds - The Ballad of Easy Rider
Bill Monroe - Rocky Road Blues
Dwight Yoakum - A Thousand Miles From Nowhere
Grandpa Jones - Old Mountain Dew
Merle Haggard - Mama Tried
Ray Wylie Hubbard - Redneck Mother
Dolly Parton - Jolene
Waylon Jennings - Ain't Living Long Like This
Loretta Lynn - Wine Into Water
Tennessee Ernie Ford - Sixteen Tons
The Dillards - Dooley
Roy Clark - I Never Picked Cotton
Tom T Hall - Fox on the Run
Ozark Mountain Daredevils- Chicken Train
Glen Campbell - Gentle on My Mind
Lovin' Spoonful - Nashville Cats
Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys - Stay All Night (Stay a Little Longer)

Good suggestions here. I had forgotten Tom T. Hall shame on me. Already picked "Big Iron" over "El Paso" for Marty Robbins. Just like that one better.

"Willie and Laura Mae Jones" -- Tony Joe White
"When First Unto This Country" -- New Lost City Ramblers
"Aunt Peg's New Old Man" -- Robbie Fulks

Play these albums back to back, and you're covered, too.

On the way out the door, though, how about posting this
in a continuous loop on their website? Thank in advance, etc. ...
