I am at a weekly and don't need to do much beyond write stories and take photos, but if I decide to do on-camera interviews with my Android and post to Twitter, how do I do that? What app do I use? And do reporters who do this use the same quotes for their stories?

Hey Bob! You can just use your camera to take the video and then upload the video from your saved library into a tweet using the Twitter app, just make sure Twitter has permission to access the videos. Alternatively, you can record a video directly from Twitter but seems a bit risky. Keep in mind that if you have a standard Twitter account, your video will be capped at 2 minutes, 20 seconds.

I definitely don't feel that readers who 'see' a quote on Twitter are going to be bothered by once again reading that same quote in a story with your writing setting it up but others may come to a different editorial decision.

Have an idea of what you want to do on video, and execute the idea best your can to cap it at 2 minutes (2:20 is the limit) before uploading to Twitter.

If the video is a minute or longer, make sure to upload it in a spot with good wifi or it will take forever.

Practice taking videos with your phone. I have an Android Galaxy S20 with an excellent camera/video system.

Piece of advice - if you're covering preps, don't bother posting to Twitter.
Get on Instagram. Interview players, tag them, post it, tease your story in the caption. Keep your website in your bio at all times.
Been doing it for six months and it's amazing how it's changed my coverage.
