Moddy, I'm very sorry. I didn't know deck Heller, but anyone who gets the praise he did for both writing and editing had to have been an enormous talent.

deck was one of the all-time greats, whether breaking news or writing a lede that elicited a grin. He was a kind and considerate man who always had words of encouragement for aspiring (and sometimes perspiring) young journalists.
