Sports Reporter - Gloversville, NY

$20 - $25k to live in New York???...Do they give you a box to sleep in at night also?

You can live in Gloversville on that. It isn't NYC.

Vermont is more expensive than upstate New York. $20K would be very tight, and you'd be eating Ramen every night, but $25K would actually be doable for a young, single person.

Someone with a family, on the other hand, probably would struggle big time.

I worked in Bennington and never lived there, but my commute sucked up the gas big time and made it tough.

Gloversville has been better on both ends.

I worked in Bennington, a far cry from a town like Burlington, and lived there. It was very tough, even as a young, single person.

If you're looking for a first job out of school, you could do much worse. Plus, you'll be very close to Glens Falls and when there's an opening at The Post-Star you'll have a GREAT opportunity for a GREAT second job.
