Steve Dunleavy finally dead

Until this thread, I did not know who Steve Dunleavy was. So, I also defer to Elliotte's previous question.

Dunleavy was part of the Fleet Street cabal that Rupert Murdoch installed at the NY Post, along, eventually, with editor Col Allan. (Look him up — a true scumbag.) Murdoch took the oldest (founded by Alexander Hamilton) and (mostly, as tabs go) respected American newspaper and turned it into the shirtty precursor to Fox News. New Yorkers understand this. Adam and Dunleavy get celebrated as hard-drinking newspapermen of a certain era, but in reality they're just Murdoch's attack hacks, and couldn't hold a candle — or a drink — to Jimmy Breslin. So, Ailes down, Adams and Rupe to go. Soon, we hope.

I think you mean Col Allan.

The one obituary does quote Dunleavy's desire to please Murdoch.
