Vice just doesn't have the writing rep of The Atlantic and others.
We've seen this a lot. Grantland never made a dime. Grantland 2 - The MTV version - didn't either. The Ringer wouldn't if not for its podcasts; Simmons could lay off a lot of his writers, and very well may, but seems to enjoy being around more talented writers than he is.
There's too many people writing the same thing. The same political critiques, the same views on culture. That's how a mediocre thinker and constipated talker like Jordan Peterson gets so much traction.
