'Why no one cares about a sequel to the world's most successful movie'

The movie was garbage, doesn't even hold up to a single repeat viewing.

Avatar was all about the visuals and life like 3D with zero thought to the actual story. It was a rehash of Fern Gully with a bit of Dances With Wolves. Unless you have a literal movie theater in your home, you aren't rewatching it.

I feel like James Cameron missed the boat on a sequel and (what is it 4 follow ups?) seems excessive.

I thought "The Abyss" was great and "Titanic" pretty good, even if overblown.

Never had the slightest interest in "Avatar" or any sequels. None.

The thing about Avatar was that the story sucked, but the Pandora universe was pretty fully realized. If he had stuck to just showing a cool alien world with great special effects, it would've been so much better. Kind of like a National Geographic documentary.

Either the first or second sequel, for example, was allegedly supposed to take place entirely in Pandora's oceans.

Ya know, the first time I saw both Heat and The Abyss in theaters, I thought they were too long. I now enjoy every moment of both.

I even like the extended edition of "The Abyss." Makes the Water aliens a little more badass.
