Taylor Dayne got grouped in w/all the other empty-voiced dance pop stars of the late '80s, but she could fucking sing and showed some legit rock chops on her great second record. I fucking LOVE this song and will be watching it all night.

 

The judges would have accepted "Which Way to America" for its status as definitive album closer and evergreen status as a cultural mirror.

Sadly, they would have also accepted "Postman" as it is an all-too accurate look into the bleak soul of a mass shooter.

 

Kraftwerk got inducted in 2021 but was relegated to the Influencer category.

The band's only U.S. Top 40 hit was "Autobahn," in 1974, but some years ago I read that Kraftwerk had the biggest global following of any band, anywhere. I dug down into their catalog a while back, and their playlist is in my regular rotation now. Lots of really good stuff in there, if you get into electronic music.
