    A banger of '88 bangers.

I may have bleached my jeans.

Don’t forget hair metal’s explicit call for the installation of a global theocracy, also known as “When The Children Cry.”

1988...I remember the first time I heard the tune/saw the video...I could not wait to go to Cutler's and buy it the next day.

One of the great guitar solos of that era - or any other for that matter. Monster riff too.

Vernon Reid is probably the most famous person who's ever interacted with one of my Tweets.

I do not care enough to do the research, but does the RRHOF have many (if any) acts that were primarily big outside the US? Or for that matter were non-English speaking?

This song, and video, is just about the most perfect thing.

And yet "Open Letter to A Landlord" and "Type," the latter off their next album, might be even better tunes.

I gotta buy those first two tapes on disc.

Taylor Dayne got grouped in w/all the other empty-voiced dance pop stars of the late '80s, but she could fucking sing and showed some legit rock chops on her great second record. I fucking LOVE this song and will be watching it all night.

The judges would have accepted "Which Way to America" for its status as definitive album closer and evergreen status as a cultural mirror.

Sadly, they would have also accepted "Postman" as it is an all-too accurate look into the bleak soul of a mass shooter.

Kraftwerk got inducted in 2021 but was relegated to the Influencer category.

The band's only U.S. Top 40 hit was "Autobahn," in 1974, but some years ago I read that Kraftwerk had the biggest global following of any band, anywhere. I dug down into their catalog a while back, and their playlist is in my regular rotation now. Lots of really good stuff in there, if you get into electronic music.

From WIKI: The band's work has influenced a diverse range of artists and many genres of modern music, including synth-pop, hip hop, post-punk, techno, house music, ambient, and club music. ... According to music journalist Neil McCormick, Kraftwerk might be 'the most influential group in pop history." NME wrote: " 'The Beatles and Kraftwerk' may not have the ring of 'the Beatles and the Stones,' but nonetheless, these are the two most important bands in music history." AllMusic wrote that their music "resonates in virtually every new development to impact the contemporary pop scene of the late 20th century."
