This from last year, when Papelbon was asked about it on some podcast. Papelbon said he hasn't talked to him, but thinks it helped Harper in the long run because Harper had mentioned he benefited from some run-ins with Dusty Baker.

I've wondered that about pitchers for years. I thought once a pitcher got set, he had to pitch once he broke his hands.

 

Those shots from Schwarber and Harper were bombs. The Phil’s have the look of a team of destiny. Wheeler is a legit ace too (would’ve looked great in a Giants uni too!)

 

Oof. That Xander Bogaerts contract. 10 years more to a 30 year old 1B with a career 117 OPS+.

I think they always thought he would change positions at some point in the deal, but not this soon. If the starters are going to be Bogaerts, Kim, and Cronenworth, their best defensive alignment is Kim at shortstop and Cronenworth at second. The only question mark would be Bogaert's ability and willingness to adjust to first base.

He's got, like, 300 million reasons to not mind moving to first. (Doesn't mean he won't, of course)
