A shingle horse and a draw knife? That's old school as hell.

Like the guy on PBS who only used tools from the 19th century. We had an historic village in my hometown and watching guys use those 200-year old tools was satisfying.

That's how they used to make cedar shakes to put on a roof. There's a foot pedal you use to clamp the wood in place, then you smooth the split cedar blank with the draw knife.

Stunning photo. These are Secret Service agents past and present who protected the Carters over nearly 50 years and undoubtedly become members of the extended Carter family.

A friend from Macon posted a photo of him watching the funeral procession heading up to Atlanta. He was far from alone.

Interesting thing about Carter is that he was a bear to Secret Service while in office but gracious and kind to them thereafter.

I assume the agents didn't walk with the hearse all the way from Americus to Atlanta.

(Also didn't realize it's 150 miles after looking it up.)

If we can stand the cold, we plan on scoping out some of the route Tuesday morning when they transfer him from the Carter Center to Marietta's Dobbins ARB for the flight to DC.

We've done it before for a slain cop and an Army private. Can't say there will ever be another opportunity to witness a presidential procession.

Bundle up for those upper 30's. It'll be worth it.

One of the things that is truly phenomenal, is even after 50 plus years of amazing works following his Presidency, the Carter Center will continue to do amazing things.
