There is no pro-gun lobby in Canada and gun laws are tough but idiots have been shooting up Toronto with alarming regularity the last six weeks or so.

Aurora Police Chief says Holmes was apprehended at his car which was parked behind the theatre. He was carrying an assault rlife, a 120gauge shotgun and .40 Glock. Another .40 Glock found in the car.

Calls started coming in at 12:39 am and police were on the scene within a minute.

71 people were shot.
12 are dead. Two at the hospital, 10 at the scene. The 10 at the scene are still in the theater.

Shooter was wearing a ballistic helmet, vest, groin protector and a gas mask.

EDIT: Also wearing a throat protector, tactical leggings and tactical gloves.

I know it's been said, but even with stricter gun laws things like this WILL happen. You can legislate, but you can't control the whack-jobs and nutcases that are out there.

On a separate topic: Someone better monitor Denver's search engine. One of the popular topics coming up is "10 things to do in Colorado before you die..."

And after describing what the suspect was wearing, the fourth question was "what was he wearing."

Personally I have no use for an AR-15 but I'm not ready to nanny the NRA other than to put in place a clear set of laws and consequences for any fuckup. If anyone needs government focus, it's the mental health industry to track down and contain people like this whenever possible.

This guy had no more than a traffic ticket, so it's pretty damn clear that something set a screw loose. Wasn't that the extent of the record of the nutcase that took down Giffords and others in Arizona?
