So, you had time to sleep on it, and had to go back the next day?

I'd say there's a pretty good chance a number of people didn't go through with the purchase.

    I seriously doubt that.

AURORA, Colo. -- Christian Bale met with victims of Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora hospital on Tuesday afternoon...The actor later stopped by a makeshift memorial to the victims near the Century 16 movie theater...One of the victims who survived the shooting, Carey Rottman, posted two photos of himself and Bale in an Aurora Medical Center hospital room.

I thought that was a very nice thing for Bale to do, especially since he doesn't have a sterling reputation as a people person.

The defense can always waive the defendant's right to a speedy trial. Always bet on it in a murder case, because it buys more time for the specifics of the plea agreement to be ironed out.

Guaranteed: this thing never sees trial. He's either ruled incompetent or pleads to avoid the death penalty. Life without parole.

Oh, and the gun background checks take all of 20 minutes. I've bought a revolver and a shotgun. Never had to wait a day for some check or "cool off period" in my states. Not sure if that's the case elsewhere.

The prosecution would catch a shitstorm if they plead this one down.

Sorry, but someone should have attacked this guy.
He had a mask on, hence no peripheral vision.
He was vulnerable to assault from his rear.
He should have been tackled and beaten while he was reloading his weapon.

So easy to say - you ever been in a room where someone is firing away like that? People said the same thing about the Virginia Tech shooter.
Mizzou's point is excellent. Tough guy talk after the fact.
