Possibly first- and second-degree charges for each of the victims?

Edit: okay, apparently not. 12 counts each for deliberation, and 12 more for "extreme indifference to human life".

I thought maybe he had killed each of them twice.

You might not be able to deny that if Colorado been an concealed permit state that someone could have shot this idiot dead and saved a portion of the dozen dead.

Someone like a responsible, mentally stable gun owner. Yeah, they're part of the NRA too.

Are you that much of a moron in real life or just here, because Colorado offers concealed weapons permit?

    Quit living in fantasy world.

I have a concealed carry permit. I shoot regularly. I've taken combat shooting courses and used to shoot competitively in practical pistol. I can safely say that it would have taken a Navy SEAL to stop the guy.

No regular Joe with a permit has the training and skills to stop a full-armored target who is shooting at them, while in a dark theater and with tear gas grenades going off.

Someday one of these shootings will take place and someone will kill the guy. After he's massacred 11 instead of say, 18. And I guess that'll be a victory for the arm-them-all brigade.

The shooter also had full body armor. I am not a gun owner but could a conventional handgun have taken out the shooter or would the armor have stopped most bullets?

And I am haunted by this. When my son visits his grandparents in Aurora he likes to go the Century 16 to catch up on the movies. When we were there in July he went to three movies at Century 16. So I think of my son (or my nephew, who is from Aurora and turned down an invitation to go to the Batman premier) sitting in a crossfire.

Depends on the type of body armor and the caliber of the pistol firing at him.

Also depends on the type of bullet.
