So Shaq and Scottie Pippen are having a social media argument over Shaq's contention an all-time Lakers team would beat an all-time Bulls team by 50. Leaving the merits of the argument aside (all-time Lakers team solid favorite, IMO, but hardly by 50), what amuses me is that on an all-time Lakers team, Shaq would be riding the pine as third center behind Kareem and Wilt.

    Small point of contention:

Shaq as a Laker > Wilt as a Laker.

A debatable issue, to be sure. But no way either man starts ahead of Kareem.

Who would be on the Bulls' all-time team that wasn't post-Jordan? Bob Love? Jerry Sloan?

Chet Walker, I would think. And there's Norm Van Lier, too.

Shaq at his best, I think it's closer than most people would think. But yeah, I imagine Kareem would still come out ahead.

Artis Gilmore played for the Bulls for a couple years.

Good point, Mr. Greenwell. But since the Lakers starting five would be Kareem, Worthy, Elgin Baylor, Magic and Jerry West, with Kobe first man off the bench, Jordan would have to have one hell of a game to keep it close. Not that he couldn't. I was at the '86 playoff game where he laid 63 on a great Celtic team, but LA would still be a decided favorite.
