On a serious note, Dave Kindred qualifies as a newbie. So does that BLOG! guy The_Big_Lead, who provided some interesting fodder with his discussions about the big interviews on his site.

 

Mr. Kindred has about 50 posts, dools.

 

I'd vote for the Big Lead for newbie of the year... That's a really good site...

Effin' frigid? From experience, minus-20 in Ottawa makes minus-40 in Edmonton feel like a Caribbean cruise — damn moisture in the air.

So? Douglas may not even have 10, and tell me a newbie that has had more impact than him. And heck, I've heard the "amount of posts doesn't matter" thing enough.

 

I forgot to add Central Illinoisan to the list of possible 1st team players. His Murphy photos are works of art.

On a separate note, anyone here from NEPA who knows when the NEPA winners will be announced?

 

Don't have to tell me! I grew up in Nouvelle Ecosse!

 

But at that point, don't we give it to Kindred just because he's Kindred? Name recognition and all, not necessarily for the strength of any number of posts.

Love the guy's work. THRILLED he came on here to talk about his book and help disseminate information on the SF Chronicle thing. But newbie of the year is likely misplaced.
