Joe, as long as the hotel rooms have AC and there's plenty of cold beer to drink, I don't give a rat's ass. Heck, we'll all be hungover most of the time, anyway.

I think that is why they are talking early June. It would be tough to have an outing in the fall, though, because of football.

Honestly, I don't even care if the beer is cold. Once I am drunk I don't tend to notice the heat, though I might pass out or piss myself.

July is one of the few months where so many here that have beats and other responsibilities and such can ask off for a few days without departments falling apart. Hence, the summer dates.

If I'm wrong about the general time of year for the outing, Moddy or anyone else, please correct me.

Toronto was no iceberg last year. Not by a long shot. We still had a blast.

Well, if timing is the big thing, how can so many people show up in Vegas for the Final Four weekend (anyone have a head count yet?)? I'm sure that at any time of the year there are going to be people who can't attend because of their beat responsibilities, whether preps, colleges or pros. All I'm saying is, it's hot. Yeah, the beer might be cold and the AC might be frigid, but you can't stay inside the whole time. Peace be with you, whoever's going.
And ... if sportschick is serious about Seattle next year, though, I'll help plan it. I need to get back to the PNW.

    D.C. wasn't exactly mild, either.

And if people would prefer San Francisco over Seattle in '08, I'd explore the possibility of heading up a Bay Area crew for next year.

    Moddy, you going to Dallas?

I'm very serious. I figure I'm capable of picking a series of games for baseball (even though I hate it), and my cousin can probably figure out a way to host us all for dinner at his restaurant.

    Fun times!

And Sam, you are always welcome up here.

You and the Stanley Cup and a Sundin jersey. :)

Whoever is the host for this outing: PM me or HC and we'd be happy to share our experience with the details of organizing things.

I think we did a pretty good job but we can't guarantee you'll get to hit up a 20 something hostess. :)

HC, JR for Toronto and Moddy for DC were beyond excellent hosts!!!
We could not have asked for better.
Well, maybe we coulda done without Moddy's Nats Fanboy hats! hehe.

I don't understand why the organizers couldn't have found a place at least close to a nice beach. That might actually be nice. Dallas in midsummer? Not a chance.

Because the outings move east to west, then back towards the east. M1's rules.
