As far as I know, I am in. I don't anticipate that changing.

Joe, I'm pretty sure 2008 will be on the left coast somewhere, then go back to the right one in 2009. it's a traveling deal.

I'm sure Inky is working hard on things, but I also feel that interest is slipping away, especially with Vegas.

Maybe the East Coast crew can have a more centralized, regional get-together.

No changes, although my recommendation we hire a suite at The Ballpark stands.

Unless someone's employer is ponying up for it, I don't see it happening.

Heck, getting the name on the RFK scoreboard was a big deal.

I disagree. I thought the Vegas thing was nearly dead until the time came. And now everyone's excited.

I mean, we're still several months out. It's all smoke and mirrors until we get a hotel and tickets and stuff. Once it becomes concrete, then I think it's a different deal.

    Interest will be just fine.

    I hope you're right.

One thing all the attendees need to realize is Dallas is a huge city area-wise. Where I'm looking at hotels, we'll be about 15 miles from the ballpark. And there's no mass transit system to speak of. Taxis will be needed, so build that into your budgets.

If I could get a rough headcount, it would help with the hotel negotiations.

There is mass transit in Dallas and in FW, and in between the cities via the "T" — but not in Arlington, which is a BIG problem. I don't think Arlington even runs buses. If you don't have a car, you're screwed.

(I think there are enough TXSportsJournalists.com members to make up for that, however. I can seat 7 in my Tahoe, but that would entail dusting off the second back seat that's been sitting in my garage for going on 3 years.)

I'm sure my previous comments were wrong. I've been known to make dumbass, pointless statements (ask IJAG).

Right, you did a better job explaining it than I did.

15 miles - wow. That's good info to know for someone who has never been there before.
