Well feel free to get off your ass anytime any of us are asking for help or suggestions in planning instead of just randomly insulting the decisions that have been made.

Your post was completely unnecessary and a slap in the face to Moddy (who OKed the site) and Inky (who is planning it).

Fuck all of that. I have slapped down Arlington since it started, as have many others. If that is where everyone is staying so be it. I have offered advice multiple times throughout this thread, so don't hate on me.
If you had a problem, you could have taken it to PMs.

In case anyone is interested...Charlie Robison (the Robison married to a Dixie Chick, not Kelly Willis) will be performing at The Ballpark after the Rangers game on the 21st. He's the guy that did that "Bar Light" song several years back.

A.) Angola, I apologize profusely. It was late, I had had a VERY long day...and your post rubbed me the wrong way. But it sure as hell didn't deserve the response I posted. I'm sorry.

B.) wicked, I see what you're saying. But Inky and I have been trying to figure out things and plan things when we have NO IDEA how many people are even thinking of coming. Even you, who's so "upbeat" about it, are still just a 'maybe.' So it's hard to do it, on top of travel, on top of work, trying to plan things for people who may or may not be there. Finding a hotel, I had to find a place that would be cheap, so I tried to find a place with shuttle service and all that. I really did call 17 or 18 hotels. Sure, for those of you going, it's just "getting together for drinks." But for those of us trying to help plan it from 20 hours away while never having been to Arlington, it's not that easy.

Once I can nail down the dates off, I'm there. There's some managerial gymnastics that I have to jump through to make it happen, since I didn't follow up on my end when I switched jobs. As far as I'm concerned, I'll be there.

Not everyone can get days off approved four months in advance.

Considering the types of jobs most of us have, specifically the difficulties involved with getting time off, it's a minor wonder to me how any of these gatherings even happen.

EDIT: And yes, Fort Worth is cool. Dallas and Arlington are gay. ;D
