I heard (I'm not sure if it's true or not) that Mike Liut didn't start playing goal until he was fifteen.

He was playing at Bowling Green at 17. If he never played goal until 15, that's impressive.

    I know it'd be a size mismatch, but I can't wait until Dorsett/Lucic. That's a fight a long time coming.

    Mr R,

I dunno about that -- but Mike Liut told me that his was the third Italian family to move into Woodbridge. That's like Azzuri founding father's status.

A fight I don't think Dorsett wants any part of. Lucic hurts peopl. There were some pretty spirited battles between these 2 in junior.

I think I heard it about 10 or so years ago from my eldest kids goalie coach. I probably misheard or he was bullshitting us parents---as was his wont.

I wonder who the first Italian family to move to Woodbridge was. They should name the whole place after them.

Thus why I said a long time coming. Dorsett may not have much of a choice in the matter.

Fuckin' Liut. Him and Federko used to give my Hawks fits.

  9. You are The Last Blackhawk Fan. You know that, right?

True, but the Hawks are now a trendy ticket in Chicago. If they ever start to win in earnest, they might have a real bandwagon. That would be strange, like end-times strange. The Mayans said the world would end in 2012, right?

Didn't they almost quadruple their season ticket base from last year--from about 3500 to 14,000?

Isn't Rocky Wirtz a bit of a folk here in Chicago now?

He's popular, as is John McDonough, though the latter is the subject of grumblings that he's influencing hockey decisions and is making things a bit too Wrigley-like at the United Center. But overall, it seems that people are happy, though since I'm not actually in Chicagoland, I'm just guessing. But the ticket sales increase is pretty telling.
