Evidence that Maurice is going to switch to a more conservative system:

I didn't think I would see the drive improve, but by all accounts it has. Even MacTavish -- and yes I hold a lot of disdain for the head coach, but he was also probably Schremp's biggest critic -- was going on about how his attitude has changed during the off-season. While he didn't take advantage of his opportunities in camp, he certainly took advantage of it last night.

Pretty small sample size, wouldn't you say?

Florida, somehow, has picked up three wins on the spin with a 2-1 win against Buffalo tonight.

Craig Anderson is really picking up the slack in goal, 6-1-3 with a 1.89 GAA and .947 save percentage.

Absolutely. The key is definitely if he can maintain his play and if he'll be up for more than just a couple games with Nilson out. I'm not saying he has made it, but at least there is still hope, that there jury isn't out on him being a flop yet. Spezza spent a year or two in the minors as well before making the show full time. He's still young yet.

Robbie Schremp was on that London Knight team that pretty much ran the table on their way to the Memorial Cup.

I remember David Bolland bringing a bunch of the Knights into the Goose with their World Junior Gold Medals and dragged Schremp along.

A couple of the regulars had a few words with Robbie about how the game's played and that he had to feed Bolland more instead of being a puck hog.

It was, by all accounts, a pretty funny conversation since the regulars were guys who had never coached above Peewee house league.

Bolland of course has been on the Hawks roster for the last two years.

NHL Network reports that Avery is suspended for six games.

Krejci has skills.....great hands. Great sign for the Bruins being able to win that game last night after being outplayed for 35 minutes......plus having 2 rookie D in the lineup logging lots of ice time.

Schremp can score, no question about that. Guys I have talked to in the Oilers organization say he needs to learn to play in his own end and without the puck.

So that means four more games because the Stars have played twice since Avery was suspended "indefinitely." Which means probably four games away from the Stars sending him on his way.

Pretty much. Here's the AP story:

Avery is going for anger management counseling according to a NHL release. Best bet is that Bettman made that part of Avery's punishment.
