Yea, there's been some scheduling quirks for a lot of teams. The Wings had a lot of road games in the first two months of the season, but they're making up for that now.

They also have yet to play two of their division foes and it's already mid-December.

Hey, you know what would be great? If the NHL could get the Winter Classic commercial aired on something other than the NHL Network.

I've seen the Winter Classic commercial and I don't get NHL Network.

I haven't seen it on NBC or Versus (yet). Maybe I've missed it.

But it goes to the point that the league does a terrible job of promoting the game to the casual fan and to (possibly) new fans.

I've seen commercials on the local Fox station, but maybe that was a locally produced one since there is a local team in it.

There's a reason that gaudy new goal-scoring trophy is named for the Rocket, you know ...

Fen, if you're going to be anywhere near Toronto in the near future, this is a must-see: http://www.hhof.com/html/exMonCent.shtml

All that bleu, blanc, et rouge in the main exhibit hall -- c'est magnifique.

Nothing would make Toronto, the HHOF and myself happier than welcoming F_B!

Hey, did you ever hear of this other award called the Art Ross Trophy? It goes to the league scoring champion, and Gordie Howe won it six times. Rocket Richard won it, um, never.

However, during the Rocket's playing career, four other Habs won the Ross Trophy six times between them. Yeah, Rocket was the greatest, though, wasn't he? :D

Let's face it - he has the goal scoring trophy named after him because he was a pure goal scorer, plain and simple, one of the best of all time. But no way was Richard a better forward or a better player than Howe.

During the 14 years they skated in the NHL at the same time, Howe made the first team at right wing seven times. Richard was the first-team right wing six times. 'Nuff said.
