Right now Hawks would play the Canucks in the first round.

I'd break my normal rule and cheer for the Hawks.

I read that the Canucks' tribute to Linden last night was an HOUR long. That's ridiculous. The league should step in on this stuff. Max 30 minutes, unless you're the real Baby Jesus.

I think they have a good enough team to win it all...I just think they're a year away, believe me, I sure hope I'm wrong.

They're certainly a fun team to watch, that's for sure.

I have WGN so I think I'll watch Saturday's Chicago feed for a change. Might be fun for a different perspective.

JR, normally I'd agree with you but this was done differently. It was an absolutely great tribute. They did it the right way, they started it at 6 with the game schedule for 7:30, so players weren't standing around. If it was an hour and the had started the ceremony at 7 or 7:30 I would agree with you but this was done well before the start of the game as to have no effect on the game.

Trevor Linden is one of the classiest players to ever play the game. His off ice work is much more impressive than anything he ever did on the ice.

Is that the Chicago WGN or the National SuperStation?

I have the SS, and can't get Blackhawk games. Unlike the Bulls, Cubs and White Sox, I think the Hawks deal is a city-only one.

The Linden tribute was extremely well done. It didn't feel like an hour, and Linden's speech was very, very good.

If you guys hate the schedule now, wait til next year. With travel costs becoming an issue, don't be surprised to see teams playing each other back-to-back -- in the same city. Yikes.

The Hurricanes and Panthers did that in March of 2006. They played on a Friday at Sunrise and played again the next night at Sunrise.

Yup. Chicago WGN. Who are the PBP and colour?

You lucky thing. I would be watching that team as much as I could.

    Exciting bunch.

    E,

Do you think that with the recession and the lower Canadian dollar, we'll see the six franchises start to suffer financially again? Or do you think that they're better at fiscal management and will keep their heads above water?

Would we ever hear of a mass layoff in athletics? [/facetious]

On the travel issue, would the back-to-back's be predominantly in-division games, or in-conference.

Would the old Panthers/Lightning/Thrashers or California swings become a thing of the past?
