Leafs played their best game of the season. They were firing on all cylinders and completely bottled up Crosby & Malkin. Oh, and Toskala didn't let in goals on the first two shots.

I wasn't even going to watch it because I figured it'd be a rout.

I've already reserved my space on Yonge Street. :)

  5. You don't already have a permanent reserved spot somewhere along there?

I know Selanne is finnish, which is why I said instead they should go after Forsberg who is also still available.

Mats would make 5 Swedes -- albeit four of them (Sundin, the sisters and Ohlund) are fairly high profile swedes, Edler should be soon. Forsberg (if they went after him) would be six. And I thought they had more, but was wrong on that account. Still that is a high number for one team. I don't think anyone has more than Detroit's 8 though.

Forsberg has not been relevant in a long time. He's long since past the point where he should retire.

The sisters, wow that's original. Those sisters seem to do just fine against your Oilers. How many point a game players to the Oilers have?

    It's a hate thing, OK?

Edit: I have a friend who is swedish -- although he's a flames fan -- and even he calls them the sisters. tough habit to break.

He's talking about coming back again, so he still has the competitive fire. But he is coming off of yet another foot surgery although he said he is feeling as good as he has in a long time (painkillers talking?) That being said, he still scored 14 points in nine games last year with the Avalanche and 55 points in 57 games split between Philly and Nashville the year before. If you can get 15 games out of him over the last quarter of the year to help push you over the top, plus playoffs, I don't see why you don't do this. Again, health and all that, but still.

What was that great Burke quote about the Sedins?

Something like: "Sedin is not Swedish for 'Punch me in the head'"

They're good hockey players. Just soft.

They don't shy away at all, do they fight back, no, so if that makes them soft then I guess they are. I'm not even their biggest fan, it's just lazy and old to call them sisters.
