Nice piece on Chuck Kaiton on the NHL Network. Never hurts to have some words from John Forslund and some dude named Francis.

Yes. They're about to go to a segment in which he basically had to yell because the ESA can get that loud.

With Kaiton's Corner - always during the second intermission - the work of John Forslund and and Tripp Tracy in the booth during the TV broadcasts and Paul Maurice's willingness to help the media better learn the game during days off during the season, these guys are largely responsible for the growth of hockey in North Carolina.

For those of you in more traditional markets, laugh. Lots of people in North Carolina did when this team played in front of crowds of 3-4,000 the first season in Greensboro.

I wouldn't laugh, if you're going to try to make a go of it in a non traditional market you may as well try to educate as many as possible. I think that is a great story.

I can't wrap my head around this type of thinking. The game is played 5-on-5 plus goalies. period.

They need to stop tinkering. The game is as good as it has been since the early 90s. They need to sit and let it settle and let the game just be.

The only thing I would change that really is in their realm of changing (contraction is only a pipe dream, realistically don't seeing it happening) would be to lose the instigator penalty, and at this point it's not even that neccessary to lose. That would be it. Beyond that, quit fucking with the game.

    Angry rant over.

I know, there's not enough offence in baseball, lets get rid of the shortstop, maybe that will allow more baserunners on thusly creating more offence.

Hey Beef, Double J's point is hockey used to be 6 on 6. Games evolve, I personally would not go to 4 on 4 but I can see where people are coming from.

I knew someone was going to bring up the rover.

The NHL dropped it over 90 years ago.

    Next.....

I know hockey used to be 6-on-6, the nhl, however, never was. Like I said, enough tinkering. Let the game be.
