Unless there's a lot of history there. Like for instance when Claude Lemieux crushed Kris Draper's face into the boards and the next year when the Avs and Wings played the gloves dropped at the opening face off and Lemieux earned the nickname turtle for covering up in fear of getting a severe beating.

I agree in a sense, but this apparently wasn't the case as far as these AHLers went.

Besides, the Wings didn't go after Lemieux at the opening face-off the next time they played. When the big brawl finally went down, it was 18:22 of the first period, and it was the fourth time the teams had met since Draper got his face rearranged.

The All Star weekend is a great corporate schmoozefest and raises money for some great charities---I love the way players like Chara are getting behind "The Right to Play".

The rookie/soph game was embarrassing. I mean, it was just plain dumb.

The only part of the skills competition I enjoyed was the shoot-out even with all the players. You don't score, you're out.

And if the first hockey game you ever saw was an All-Star game, you'd never watch another one.

So apparently there's an all-star game of some sort. Really, I just turned it on in time to see Elliotte.

    Yum.

This thing's going to end 12-10 isn't it?

    What crap.

Like the NBA All-star game ending 150-145? Or the Pro Bowl ending 42-30?

It's just a bit of fun.

Jesus, I'd love for an NBA all-star game to end in the 40s or 50s.

Still. Anyone who argues against shootouts because they're not "like the game" can't possibly support this offensive explosion of crap.

I don't. And best yet, because of the volatility of the game, injury is a very real possibility. A little different with the Pro Bowl, because it's at the end of the season.

But if my goalie goes to this craptastic celebration of hug-ins and he pulls an MCL, I am one pissed off owner.
