I meant I thought they usually go higher. Like 170s or 180s. Which is an even bigger joke. But at least you know NBA players are offensive-minded fools.

I just didn't expect hockey's all star game to be so lackadaisical, I guess.

It's just an excuse to get everyone together for a schmoozefest, like all all-star games. It has been ever thus, I was watching an old one a couple of days ago with Larry Robinson et al playing Campbell vs. Wales.

No hitting at all then either.

Boo hiss! I mean, I can see the point, as AMac said above, in avoiding injuries. But it's crap. It's like watching middle schoolers play. Slow, no hitting, and all offense.

And in another news, the sun sets in the west.

  7. I was at the game in St. Louis where Lemieux scored six.
Worst hockey game I ever saw, at any level.

Sorry, JR, we don't all dedicate our lives to watching hockey and being crotchety.

May I point out that when you're talking about hockey, you have to spell it offenCe? :D

I don't know if this has been covered or not, but I am interested in seeing what people think about Bettman's decision to suspend Lidstrom and Datsyuk for one game for backing out of the All-Star game.

Lidstrom has played in 10 all-star games before, but backed out because of an injury. He rarely misses games, but already missed 1-2 recently because of an ankle injury I believe. Not sure about Datsyuk's injury...but should it matter?

I don't understand how Bettman can decide which injuries are legitimate and which ones aren't.

Bettman needs to put his foot down on players using injuries, real or imagined, as an excuse to skip the weekend. Sid the Kid is injured and he showed up to wave the flag. It's not just about the game.

BTW, CBC two is broadcasting the game online in Punjabi.

I1-10 for the West with four to go.
