    I'm in awe.

And, remember, that's not always a good thing.

Ovechkin scores, East wins. So who's MVP, Kovalev or Thomas?

Kovalev. At home, had two goals and scored in the shootout.

The 1988 game.....Lemieux had a record six points on three goals and three assists, including the winning goal in a 6-5 OT decision. Mats Naslund added a record five assists.

That probably would have been a good contest compared to the dreck that passes for an all-star game today.

    In a heartbeat.
If I had to guess the package would be Horcoff, Grebeshkov or Gilbert, and Nilsson plus any two of Schremp, Brule, Riley Nash, Jeff Petry, and Taylor Chorney depending on if they wanted defence or offence and which prospects they prefer.

I don't think it would happen, but I would welcome it absolutely. It's a huge package, but the Oilers would still have a number of solid pieces surrounding him with more coming up. Plus Lecavalier and Hemsky would dominate, would be untouchable.

There hasn't been a good all star game since they dropped the Stanley Cup Champions versus the rest of the league format.

Here's a great photo. Tim Thomas and The Friendly Giant.

I see what you're saying but I'd be worried about that contract. That is a long time and really limits your flexibility.

There are enough guys coming off the books in the next couple of years (Roli, Pisani, Cole, Staios, etc), plus young guys still in the system, plus guys going the other way. End of the day you don't get the opportunity to add a player of Lecavalier's ilk very often. Especially a centre. The last time the Oilers even had a legitimate No. 1 centre was Weight and they traded him to St. Louis for a bucket of pucks a decade ago. The last time an elite centre of Vinny's calibre became available was three years ago and no one knew about it until Thornton had been traded to San Jose.

Even if they want Gagner instead of Nilsson I still do it.

Money will not be an issue for the Oilers, their owner -- a billionare who owns a couple hundred pharmacies across the country -- has pledged to spend to the cap every year. Besides Lecavalier's contract hit is not that bad, it is only $85 mil over the next 11 years ($7.72 mil per). This is the same franchise that was reportedly willing to go $81 million over nine years ($9 mil per) or whatever it was for Hossa. I'd rather have Lecavalier at the cost of the three players+2 prospects+2 No.1 picks+1 No. 3 pick as the offer is rumoured to be in the link you sent me.

What's the cliche, the team that gets the best player in the trade wins? I think it is pretty clear where the best player would be going.

Again want to underline and emphasize that I'm not really expecting it to happen, but if it does I would be dancing in the streets. Can you imagine Iginla and Lecavlier lining up against eachother six times a year??? Simply outstanding.

You have no idea how hard it is to hold a voice recorder up that high while you're interviewing him.

Pierre Maguire is touting the idea of the Flames hosting an outdoor classic at Lake Louise.

Can you imagine the camera shots for that? Oh my ...

(Sidebar: To Pastor and his friends, however, the Victoria Glacier is just some ice on a hill. :p)
