I didn't know you could send him back to juniors after he played more than 10 games or so in the NHL. I remember the discussion back in November that the Leafs had to make a decision with Luke Scheen by a certain date.

His contract kicked in at 10 games, meaning he's being paid NHL dollars regardless of where he is playing - NHL or junior.

Aw, in that case it's a no-brainer. If you're going to be paying the guy first-round NHL money, might as well keep him. Especially after you built your season-ticket campaign around him.

It's not like they have tons of guys in the AHL who are going to suddenly bolt them to playoff contention. Might as well let Stamkos learn on the job.

Yeah, that was my big fail on that thread.

I thought that you couldn't send junior players back after ten games. I didn't realise that teams could--but you had to pay them their NHL contract. I think it was Fly or Sea Bass who corrected me.

Boys, you might want to check roster rules. Pretty sure rosters had to be set by the trade deadlines, which were in early January.

    Stamkos ain't going anywhere.

My niece is playing in the lacrosse nationals in Whitby. The team needs a shooter. ;-)

I see, so he can't go anywhere at this point?

I could be talking out of my ass ... but I can't remember anyone being returned this 'late' in the season.
