I'm hoping the Sabres are nice and tired for their visit tomorrow night. They should be, eh, Beef? :D

Nope, I'll take a picture in a minute so you can see it.

He's got a bit of a cult following down here, throws himself around something fierce. They've been working on getting a more consistent effort out of him, and it's paying off. His line, with Halpern and Malone had a pretty good game tonight.

Just saw the highlights of that one. Man, the Sabres can just fly up and down the ice. Could be a belting game tomorrow night.

It's an early start, too. Six bells Mountain, according the website. Strange for mid-week.

Andrew Brunette of the Wild played in his 500th consecutive game last night and celebrated the milestone with a goal.

It was the 835th game of his career. Not bad for a guy who wasn't supposed to have been able to make it in the NHL because he wasn't a good/fast enough skater.

His success is well deserved. Congratulations, Bruno. :)

Are you kidding me? The Sabres obviously didn't break a sweat. Gave up on the game at 4-0 or 5-0. Just brutal.

I still cannot undestand MacTavish's continued employment. Gagner goes down with an injury so they insert Liam fucking Reddox, Jason Strudwick (on wing, when he has played D his entire career) and the great Stortolini. But you know, why would the fan base want to see Brule, Schremp and Potulny (leads Springfield in scoring and is coming off a 6-point night at the AHL all-star game) -- all of which who have looked great in their stints with the big club. :( I hate him, I hate him, I hate him.

I believe it's so TSN can get a doubleheader in. They have Preds-Canucks at 10:30 Eastern right after.

Chalk another one up in the lifetime contract column.

    Zetterberg, 12 years, $72 million.

I thought the trend was to get away from these long contracts, especially in the current economic climate. BNut that being said, Zetterberg at $6 mil per for his career is a bargain, even if you're over paying late, it makes up for the first two/thirds of the contract.

6 million per is a pretty good deal. I still think the length of these contracts are crazy. To many variables come into play from injury to the cap coming down. I think if I were you Beef I'd be happy that the Oilers didn't get Hossa for 9 years at 9 per. I'd take Lecavalier back but not at what you were willing to give up. In the cap system trades can't be judged like they used to. It's not always who gets the best player wins the trade, not if getting the best player hinders your ability in putting decent players around him. It'll be interesting to see how the next few years play out, you can see teams already regretting some of the long term commitments they've made. the Rangers and Flyeres specifically.

Stortolini? That sounds delicious. Does it come with red sauce or white?
