His coach and GM should publicly call his ass out more often.

Whalercanes acquire Jussi Jokinen from Tampa:

Good idea ... Wade Brookbank was a scrapper, but usually an extra man, Josef Melichar hasn't done much of anything, so basically it's Jokinen for a fourth-rounder. And dealing the players away - even for someone on waivers - keeps Peter Karmanos' crowbar-proof wallet happy.

Guess Carolina wanted a Jokinen to counter Phoenix's.

Eric Staal scores on PP just 64 seconds in against the Coyotes.

Dallas just scored on Valiquette again.

Leafs win 5-2. Price looked like Toskala.

  8. OK, so who does Toskala give up seven to this week?
The Bruins are just another universe on the Habs right now, even though they lost an OT to Philly in Boston today. Ryder's got a broken face.

    Whalercanes just stomped Phoenix 7-2.

Eric Staal did play. Sergei Samsonov with four points. Jussi Jokinen, probably still stretching his legs from the flight, had an assist.

Four power-play goals, too, perhaps the most positive sign. Nice end to the West Coast trip after the disaster in Vancouver.

It's ugly tonight in Canuckistan for the Blackhawks. Trailing 6-0 with 7 minutes left in the 2nd period. Huet only lasted one period giving up 3 goals which weren't his fault. Khabibulin isn't doing any better giving up 3 goals in less than 13 minutes. Defense has been non-existent tonight and all the breaks are going Vancouver's way. Canucks PP has been unreal 4 goals in 5 chances and the officials aren't helping Chicago as they seem to be calling everything on the Hawks and swallowing their whistles for the Vancouver infractions. Someone tell these guys in the striped shirts that the Tom Lysiak incident happened over 25 years ago.

Blackhawks tonight resemble the Cubs in the playoffs. U-G-L-Y I figured this would happen after I mentioned the Hawks were 11-0 vs. Canadian based teams this season.

Seems like Vancouver used the shorthanded game-winner to get going. Luckily for this fanboy, the Whalercanes found something in taking San Jose in a shootout barely 48 hours later.

Kris Versteeg scores a SH goal to make it 6-1. Well at least the shutout is now gone in Vancouver as the second period comes to a close. Canucks had 6 straight PPs in the 2nd period as the zebras have called 6 straight minor penalties including a double minor against the Hawks after the Canucks went up 4-0. Which one of the officials is related to Ron Foyt?
