yeah, he seems to be a cranky, bitter, angry all-time great.

Don't know what he was like when he was younger but I saw Willie at all-time home run hitters PC at the 04 ASG and I wouldn't be surprised if he is suffering from the same ailment as Steinbrenner. Willie McCovey spent most of the session keeping an eye on Mays.

That would explain Mays' actions on the field tonight.

And if Cindy doesn't force him into a premature retirement he probably finishes with more hits.

Thank God Jeter didn't come thru. I couldn't handle him being MVP.

    I don't care if he's a starter or not, he shouldn't get three at-bats.

    Morgan — .392 OBP, 689 steals, 1650 runs, 1133 RBI, 1865 walks, 2 MVPs, 5 Top 10 in MVP vote
    Sandberg — .344 OBP, 344 SB, 1318 runs, 1061 RBI, 761 walks, 1 MVP, 3 Top 10 in MVP vote

There's no question, at least in my mind, that Morgan was a better player, by far. Morgan's an unbearable blowhard, yes, but he's arguably the greatest second baseman of all-time.

Diehard Cardinals fan. One of my many shortcomings.

I added some stats, if you'll notice. You obviously didn't notice.

I haven't said that Sandberg was better. That's a tough call. But Morgan's one-way hatred of Sandberg is petty and childish, and his argument that Sandberg isn't a Hall of Famer is ridiculous.

NL with runners at the corners. Is it too early to bring in Rivera?

You forgot stolen bases (689/334) and OBP (.392/.344).

    Those kind of favor Morgan.
