The France family? Turning away money?

There you go with logic and NASCAR again, S-P ... the latter won't even turn down more money. Which is why it keeps getting itself in trouble.

    Apropos of nothing ...

Sprint posted a $29.5 billion loss today, due mainly to writing down most of the remaining value of its Nextel buyout. No dividends for the foreseeable future.

If you weren't a Brewers fan, you'd be one of the smartest people I know.

As is, though, you suck, and so does your fat, vegetarian first baseman.

Apparently the Herd is getting a new kind of thunder, which may be heard Nationwide if they get enough backers.

No major news, but this made me chuckle. From the transcript today with Harvick:

ON PARODY: "Parody is good for the sport....

Lord knows none of us do anything of the sort. ::)

Bruton has magnanimously offered to switch the fall Atlanta date with California.

He has also called for the postseason banquet to move to Vegas. And he called Chicagoland "Prisonland."

His vassal in Texas is offering a $15,000 reward to any driver who throws a helmet during on-track incident in a race between now and the spring Texas stop.

This race has had more pregame than the Super Bowl.

Digger? Seriously? Does the non-existent track-level camera operator need a name?

Is Kyle Busch wearing his ginormous sunglasses under his helmet?

Will the track be obscured by a dust-storm? Will we have a caution for a dust devil?

Is it really that cold there? My understanding is that drivers only swerve on cautions to keep their tires warm, and that only when it's cold by Southern/NASCAR standards (like 60 degrees or less).

It was warmer than that at Bristol's spring race last year and they were swerving on cautions.
