I thought it was awesome! haha.

Least likely to get Goodyear as a sponsor ... the No. 20 car.

Dude spoke his mind, and I can't think of one driver that has had anything nice to say about Goodyear's efforts this year.

On a slight tangent, AMA Pro Racing could give NASCAR a lesson in how you deal with a race winner who cheats: you take away his victory.

Grand Am, which is co-owned by Jim France (yes, one of those Frances), just agreed to take over AMA Pro Racing from the AMA, which wants to be more like AAA and not so much like USAC. So the whole we're-taking-away-your-trophy bit may never happen again.

EDIT: Stewart keeps beating that drum on NASCAR Victory Lane, as well. Now he's saying he's going to dismount any Goodyear tires he has on his personal vehicles (not a bad idea — GY consistently makes the worst street tires I've used on a four- or more-wheeled vehicle).

Jimmy "I never saw a donut I couldn't eat" Spencer is defending Goodyear. He says it's the bump stops' fault.

Does anyone on this board use Goodyears on their cars? I don't think I have since I changed the tires on a '96 Crown Vic my parents sold to me cheap when they moved to Florida.

Would all this talk really get NASCAR to consider getting rid of Goodyear or allowing other tire companies in when the Goodyear contract expires? That lousy race is getting more post-race ink and airtime then it deserves thanks to the tires, and methinks NASCAR will always take that tradeoff.

Here's the bottom line: NASCAR would happily dump Goodyear if another tire company offered more money when the next contract renewal rolls around.

What they would not do is allow more than one tire supplier at a time in the mix, because the prior tire wars - most recently with Hoosier, in 1994 or '95, IIRC - proved to be costly for the teams and a huge p.r. headache.

Hey, Kyle Busch, when the teleconference starts at 2...BE ON THE PHONE AT 2.

Not 2:17 with us getting updates about how they're "admitting additional participants" and to please continue to hold.

The Lady In Black has a new dress. Apparently, that's now made her fast as hell.

There's no way they race in Bristol today. Maybe tonight, but I won't get my hopes up.

I have tasted Ridgewood barbecue, and I have been blessed.

  11. But... but... the drivers have vacation plans!

And yes, Ridgewood rules all BBQ.
