Bad news, IJAG: Bobby Hamilton, Jr. has just tattooed your new sig on his arm.

So I just saw the Lauren/Warren Wallace "story ends with me putting him in the wall" commerical for the first time since Busch became Nationwide Series.

"But you don't race in the Busch Series" has become "you don't race in the Series."
Funny. Well, not really. I did chuckle.

    Who beat?

Saw a couple times where NASCAR.com put "N'wide" in its headlines because Nationwide is too dang long. I bet the company is enjoying that, huh N-Wide?

    N-Wide, biotches! Word.

Yeah, bet that's a hit at corporate HQ. Or not.

Hard times are about to hit Petty Enterprises ...

    1. General Mills is officially heading to RCR to sponsor the 33 car (no driver named, nudge nudge wink wink), and
    2. Kyle Petty is putting Chad McCumbee in the 45 car again.

Also ... UPS may be car-hopping next year and Roger Staubach is leaving the 96 front office after this year. (All stories from jayski.)

Watch the replays for Michael McDowell's wipeout at TMS qualifying today.

Ho-lee crap, what a crash. He flipped at least a dozen times and his car caught fire.

He walked away from that with thumbs up.

Wow. Breathtaking. Another reminder of what a fantastic invention the SAFER barrier is, among other safety features.

I was waiting for Jamie McMurray in the Cup garage when I heard that "OOOOOH!!" from the crowd that accompanies something bad in racing. So I ran back to the media center, just in time to see the first set of replays.

Unbelieveable that he walked away from that, particularly when you consider the angle and G-forces involved.

That might be 90 percent safety improvements and 10 percent pure luck.

And it forced a rewrite of the damn McDowell-Burton sidebar that was about to be posted.

Another example of my laziness and procrastination paying off. :)
