So let me see if I have this correct ...

The U.S. Army sponsorship is going to move to a Toyota team next year?

Does that qualify as ironic? Or is it only ironic if JPM drives that car? I can never remember the rules...

2MCM's post did remind me of a question I had some time ago: I believe it was Darlington that Busch ran the Nationwide race for Braun with sponsorship from Beringer, one of the megawineries in California. Did/does anyone at JGR have a problem with this, given their disinterest in alcohol companies as sponsors?

I know it's not affiliated with JGR, so they have no control over who Braun gets sponsorship from. But doesn't that reflect at least partially back to them, since Busch is first, foremost and most of the time a JGR employee?

If it does, it won't be Bill Davis Racing. You can count on that.

And Mark Martin is outta there at DEI. Aric Almirola takes over the 8 full-time next year.

David Newton and Marty Smith are reporting that Martin will move to Hendrick Motorsports' 5 car, replacing Casey Mears. Martin will run for the championship.

My son called and asked if I saw it. I did not. He likes Stewart but said Stewart came off as a significant chotch bag. Said the reporter handled it pretty well.
