Even without my admitted bias, she's not even top 5.

But I'd think it would work both ways. I imagine there are some companies that have a connection to Dario that wouldn't mind being exposed to the NASCAR fan base. And I know you're right about the hot wife thing, but Ashley is kin to Nashville folks. Or is sponsor money flowing into open-wheel now since there is a view that NASCAR's growth has peaked.

    This is clearly incorrect.

He drove the Canadian Club car last year in IndyCar, that's a company that probably wouldn't go far in the Jack-and-Bud world of NASCAR.

Even with Montoya, I don't know if that's brought in a flood of foreign dollars as Ganassi wanted. His primary sponsors are longtime-Cup sponsor Havoline and chewing gum.

And the failure of the Jacquesperiment© should reinforce that. Montoya got lucky at Sears Point last year. Ashley not only is not the only hot wife in the NASCAR garage, she might not even be in the top 10.

On the other hand, Marco Andretti doesn't even have full sponsorship in the IRL and Andretti Green lost both Klein Tools and Fortune brands (Jim Beam & Canadian Club) as sponsors this year.

Waltrip has no paying sponsor for his No. 00 for the rest of the year and none signed for next year.

UPS almost certainly be gone from his No. 44 next year.

    NAPA in 2009? Who knows?

MWR lost over $4M last year, too.

And he sold 50 percent of the team last year to an investment banker, Rob Kauffman.

You can bet that Kauffman is controlling the purse strings these days.

Is that his partner? I mean his business partner?

    Yep.

Co-founder and President of Fortress Investment Group and primarily responsible for Fortress's European investment operations. He also serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of both GAGFAH and NILEG, two of Fortress' Germany residential housing companies, as well as Italfondiario, Fortress's Italian Real Estate and Loan business. Prior to forming Fortress in 1998, Mr. Kauffman was a managing director of the principal finance group of UBS from May 1997 to May 1998, and prior to that, was a principal of BlackRock Financial Management. Mr. Kauffman was with Lehman Brothers from 1986 to 1994 and served as executive director of Lehman Brothers International in London beginning in 1992.

Oh, come on, lono. You were in Martinsville for that hilariously awkward presser, weren't you? Where Mikey mentioned his "partner, I mean my business partner..." like three times?

Talked about his marriage being rocky, so he can't be throwing the partner around?

Said "my business partner, but I understand where you're coming from?"

    Come on!
