If that's the case, Mark Martin had a lot of people in a newsroom in my past fooled. Big time.

Except the ME, who wisely thought highly of Terry Labonte. Not surprisingly, she too is a class act.

Terry, I liked. But I wasn't around until his fulltime days were over. He's been nothing but fantastic the times I've spoken with him, including making time for a couple one-on-ones.

The way I hear it, he was no different when he was full-time. No one was booing too much when he won his Cups.

I covered the NASCAR/Goodyear tire test at the Brickyard last week, which was perfectly orchestrated. More than a dozen drivers on site, yet who do they hand-pick to talk to the assembled media? Martin and Kahne. A guy who's not going to say one bad word about NASCAR and/or Goodyear and a guy who's not going to say five words, period. (Though to his credit, Kahne was better in one-on-ones.)

    That's my $.02 on Martin.

And here's the thing that went over well: Kevin Harvick as the mature one. :D

FWIW, Sprint Cup officially sucks now. Stupid COTs making all the races boring and stupid JJ seemingly a lock to win his third consecutive title.

To be fair, Martinsville is always boring and stupid. :D

But it's the only place you can get a famous Martinsville hot dog!

There's a reason Tums is a sponsor there.

Should be the "Tums QuickPak 500 presented by Martinsville Hospital in conjunction with Martinsville Funeral Home."

IJAG, come on. Just because they don't serve tofu crepes or finger sandwiches doesn't mean you have to be a hater.

No running hot water, either. At least, none downstairs. Dunno about conditions up where the hoity-toity types play.
