What the hell is it with NASCAR and ugly trophies? Seriously, it's no wonder The Carl gives his away.

Looks like NASCAR has sent the two kids to their rooms for fighting.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- NASCAR is placing drivers Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart on probation for six races, beginning with Sunday's Daytona 500.

The punishment follows a confrontation between the two former series champions, who wrecked in practice last week and then carried it into the NASCAR officials' trailer.

NASCAR says the probation stems solely from the on-track portion of their clash, when the drivers deliberately used their cars as battering rams.

  3. Story also says it is "widely believed Stewart punched Busch."

Boy, tough to find someone to root for in that fight.

Ah, NASCAR probation. No other words send greater chills down drivers' necks.

    Except maybe "paternity test."

Sure. Had nothing to do with Smoke coldcocking the elder Busch brother. Nothing at all. Nothing to see here folks, just move along.

Good to see the NASCAR public relations machine is in mid-year form already.

You may find this hard to believe, but NASCAR really is OK with drivers punching each other out, with two key conditions:

    1. It has to be behind closed doors, where no one can see it, or worse yet, put it up on You Tube.
    2. When the fighting stops, it's over. Period. It better damn well not carry over to the following week.

And don't kid yourself - NASCAR's two bad boys getting in a fist fight that can neither be confirmed nor denied is about the best press NASCAR can get. It's good for business.

Don't you need to change your handle?

Interesting. But can these types of incidents really not carry over to the track? I just can't see Busch not carrying this in the back (or front) of his mind when they find themselves together on the track.

Hell yes. Funny how "what is said in the hauler stays in the hauler", blah blah, but if there's a little tango, that gets leaked. Perfect for NASCAR since (so far) there isn't anything uncouth to grab headlines at Speedweeks like Mikey's rocket fuel last year.

    I want to, but I can't change it without a mod's approval, I guess.

Mods: If you read this, I want to change my handle to dewcrew88 (Without nuking this one!)

Bud, I think Webby's the only one who can change handles.

As for the racing ... I'm annoyed the Duels no longer are on FX. Don't got no Speed Channel, so I ain't watching the races today.
