I can see Punk dropping his briefcase to either Orton or Edge. I don't think they're truly ready to push him to a main event level on either Raw or Smackdown, though he looked good in the match against Orton before Regal went World Class Wrecking Crew and turned out all the lights.

The Ashley angle will happen at some point. No way WWE doesn't pick up that loose ball and run with it. On the same Diva tune, I'd venture that Michelle McCool is on the verge of a major push. Mickie James will lose the belt to Beth Phoenix at Judgement Day, which will open the door for McCool to get a run. As smoking hot as she is, trust me, I won't mind.

I watched about the last hour and a half on and off. RAW was pretty average tonight.

    SPOILERS

What's up with HBK faking the knee injury? I don't get it. It still sounds like Y2J has a lot of fans. The chants were still ongoing throughout his segment.

The problem with the worked knee injury is that everyone knows it's a work. Even if it's never revealed to be a ruse, it was so oversold and so unnatural compared to actual injuries that it didn't work.

HBK really needs to go whole-hog heel at this point -- waaaaay too many faces in the top of the card, while Orton, a less than %100 JBL and Regal are about it for heels.

Speaking of too many faces, it was really nice to see Hardy come back tonight. And as much as I missed his old music, I think I like Orton's new music (did he only start using that tonight?) even less. Like Hardy, Orton never should have switched his music.

Yeah, it's always an awkward moment when new music comes on and you don't know who it is.

Good to see them putting over Kennedy by having him beat a guy who usually just jobs to the main eventers.

I also agree that a few heel turns need to be made. Raw's talent pool has gotten deeper than ever, and they're overstocked on faces. How long will JBL hold out in his condition (fat and boring)? First off, get Jericho and Michaels out of the feud and have them both turn. Really, nobody gives a flying fuck that Cade turned on Murdock. It's not much of a turn when nobody cares.

Murdoch is terrible. I wonder how they'll push Cade. And where's Murdoch's future? That guy is a fat, boring slob (JBL?!?!).

Michaels talking about faking the injury and then drilling Jericho makes me wonder if it's HBK that's going to get the heel push and Y2J who will stay face?

They had a great Wrestlemania match the year it was in Seattle. Jericho was the heel and HBK the face. Perhaps everyone else liked that match too so they decided to switch their roles this time around.

The debut of Dick Murdoch Jr.?

Kind of a cross between the old Dick Murdoch and Stan Hansen? A fat slob running to the ring with a cowbell and tobacco spit a la "Skinner"?

How about turning Cody "Worthless piece of daddy's crap" Rhodes heel and forming,

    wait for it ...

The new "Dirty" Dick Murdoch Jr. and "Dirty" Cody Rhodes!

Though Cody would need a splotch, wouldn't he?

I never get to watch Raw until the late-night Saturday rerun, so I can't comment on his music, except that they've tried to change it before, and it didn't take. To be fair, though, if you listen to the lyrics, they're a lot more appropriate for when the song debuted (right after Evolution turned on him) than it is now as the brand's dominant heel.

I heard from several places that they are thinking of making Cade an upper-midcard heel to battle the likes of Jeff Hardy and Jericho for the IC Title. Meanwhile, Murdoch will be lower on the card, as a comedic face.

    Sounds about right to me.

From watching Raw this week...it's pretty obvious that WWE's Wellness Policy has had a significant effect on everyone's favorite yellow-tooth jobber.

I love Kennedy as a face. He's acting pretty much the same as a heel, but is getting over huge and is selling tons of merchandise. He can wrestle a very solid WWE-style match as well. I predict he'll be main-eventing regularly by the end of the year.

What is to come out of this Cena/Mickie James relationship? Anything? Man, I'd love to see a huge swerve that somehow ends with Cena/James as a heel duo.

This Jericho/HBK feud is gold. Nobody knows who's going to turn heel, but one of them will and I think (and hope) it'll be Y2J. Michaels works very well as an underdog face, while Jericho is best as a cocky, loudmouth heel. But the Orton/HHH and Cena/JBL feuds have been lackluster, to say the least. Even the Edge/UT program isn't really working. Judgment Day looks pretty shitty on paper...why haven't they added Kennedy vs. Regal yet?

I fear that this random CM Punk/Kane tag team will end with Punk cashing his MITB briefcase at some point. Nobody wants that.

I remember reading an interview with Orton, where he said that he hated his (now-old) entrance theme because it was too babyface-ish (did I just invent a new word?)

I agree that Jericho/Michaels is probably the best feud right now. I thought Cade and Murdoch could have been pushed a little better, but if Cade is going out on his own, they probably should elevate him better. The same with Miz/Morrison.
