I was wondering the same thing. Big Show was on RAW mostly when he first came back because of the whole Mayweather thing. Now he has been in the program with Kane since then on ECW. Why the fuck was he with Smackdown in the battle royal?

The whole draft basically assured me that now Ill be taping smakdown. Raw has become a lot less interesting.

RAW traded Trips, Jeff Hardy, Kennedy...Kennedy, Umaga (who is one of the better wrestlers RAW had.) for Mysterio (basically a smaller, more boring Jeff Hardy), Batista (Ugh...Terrible) Kane (if this was 1999 I'd be excited now he's just a one trick pony... would of rather had Big Show) and Punk. I really try to watch Punk because of what you guys say about him, but he simply is not that entertaining to me. His matches are decent and his mic skills have sucked from what i've seen. Unless he gets better I really don't see why he deserves main event status. Don't really see what's the big deal. Ill keep watching him though.

Excellent thought on the power couple thing. That breathes new life into the Guerrero deal...I thought Edge's faking his affection to use Vickie would eventually catch up with him. With Steph coming back after the baby arrives, which is timed perfectly, the split doesn't have to happen for at least a year. Great stuff.

Does jericho have an IC title defense or not for the PPV this weekend?

His title is the only one without a match right now.

Also, the reason ECW didn't get much in the way of draft picks aside from Matt Hardy is because the show will now be taped on Monday before/after Raw so in reality, ECW also picked up Batista, Mysterio and I'd be willing to bet that Punk and Kane are still going to be seen on ECW from time to time.

  4. I'm sure his move was planned months ago.

Y2J would have had a match had he not done a drop toe hold on HBK on the announcer's table.

And I'll say it again, what a terrible fucking acting job by HBK. There wasn't even a blood capsule or anything to make it look like he was bleeding. There was one point where I thought I saw him look dead into the camera and wonder if it was still rolling.

Someone mentioned Vince's departure clears things up for Taker to come back. How's that work? Taker has only been gone a month or so and he's already coming back? I just don't see how Vince's death or whatever equals Taker's resurrection so quickly.

  6. so I'm apparently in the minority in thinking the Jericho/HBK thing is the best thing going on Raw?

Also, he was selling the eye, not a head wound.

It looks like Y2J will likely feud against HBK at Night of Champions. The way the storylines have been going, it seems reasonable that HBK and Jericho would square off. I'd like to see HBK go for a title run, too. Might make for some enjoyable television. That and HBK did get a television screen to the face, so it only seems appropriate that HBK is looking for revenge. :)

Everyone already knows that and the story wouldn't solve shit.

Straight from JR's blog (which is very good by the way):

As many of you know, I was “drafted” to Smackdown Monday night in the “random lottery”. Obviously that means I will be leaving Monday Night Raw and my long time partner Jerry Lawler.

I am not happy about this surprise development.

I also contemplated calling it a career Monday night and not going to Houston to tape SD.

After speaking with my wife and thinking on this matter until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, I have decided to do the right thing for the fans who care and the talent who care and begin my new assignment.

It has been explained to me that the WWE’s Smackdown tenure on My Network is a high priority within the corporation. Allegedly, my presence is needed in that effort.

Many are speculating about when I learned of this development…the same time those of you were watching at home. I should have detected something with the demeanor of certain individuals either thru their plastic, poker faces or the perceived smirk that I thought I might have seen on some of their faces during the day.

As far as going to Connecticut each week to do Smackdown post production, that’s not going to happen. Either Mick Foley can handle it or the WWE can install a DSL line in my home to facilitate the work.

I will miss working with the King as the wrestling biz is one in which a guy can count his legit friends on one hand…even after a 30 plus year career. King has been like a brother to me….albeit an “older brother”. We will remain friends no matter that our team has been corporately imploded.

I believe that I have been strongly loyal to the WWE no matter the hands that were dealt to me over the years. In my tenure there I have earned a good living of which I am thankful. I will fulfill my commitments that I have made because unlike many in the business, my word is still my bond.

I can’t predict how long my Smackdown tenure will be, but I can promise that no matter how long or short it is that I will do my utmost best while sitting at ringside. I am not the kind of man who will “phone in” a damn thing.

My sincere thanks to all of you who have supported me on RAW over the years. I hope I was able to provide you a memory or two. Hopefully, we can create new memories now on Smackdown.

Based on my professional experiences, I look at each broadcast as potentially my last, which helps keep me motivated. So with that said we begin another chapter in my crazy life in the unpredictable world of ‘rasslin.

I still plan on attending RAW in my home market of OKC next Monday and I hear that tickets are still available. Any one have any extras?

I don't know whether to feel bad for JR or tell him to suck it up. It's a tragedy that JR and The King are split up when they've been doing commentary together since the 90's. I believe JR made his WWF/WWE debut at WreslteMania IX. I don't know if JR will have a lot of chemistry with Foley and/or if Cole and The King will exactly "click." JR will be back on RAW shortly.

That's shocking to me that JR didn't know he was moving brands until he saw it on the Jumbotron. I thought he was pretty heavily involved in, if not writing the scripts, at least knowing what was coming.

I feel bad for the guy. Vince has fired JR on more than one occasion and has embarrassed him on TV countless times. I thought JR would have been informed of the storylines, since he is the former Executive VP of Talent Relations, which is a pretty high-ranking job involving hiring new talent. But this draft was the most private of them all...nobody knew who was going where beforehand, not even the actual talent. Honestly, HHH is probably the only one who knew, since Steph runs the Creative aspect of the company and he sits in on the meetings.

Ross could have quit last night - from what I hear, his restaraunts are hugely successful and they will soon be franchised outside of Oklahoma around the country. And he could get into sports broadcasting, which he did for the Atlanta Falcons when WWF fired him for the first time.

I'm excited to hear the JR/Mick Foley combination. Foley has struggled at times, but he has also done some excellent pbp for a beginner. I believe he was approached and offered the job 10 days before his first event. I don't really see Cole/Lawler working out well. Cole's a professional and never terrible, but he's completely average in every aspect. I don't get a big-match feel when I hear Cole.
