CFC -- my bad. I've made that mistake a couple of times. Of course I still use the wrestling observer address out of habit.

Meltzer and Alvarez are great, but I'll always be partial to Travis Scott Bowden at Kentucky Fried Wrasslin' (http://comics101.com/?page=KFR).

He's the nephew of some legendary football coach, and used to be a heel manager in Memphis.

He's used a bunch of my emails before, whereas Meltzer hasn't used any of the stuff I've sent him.

Meltzer's likely a bit thin on time these days as a yahoo.com MMA columnist as well as writing his 35,000-word newsletter and all the other radio appearances and UFC trips not to mention finding time to be married and with a kid. I do not know how he keeps up with his demanding schedule.

Speaking of Melter and the www.f4wonline.com site, this is from today's update:

--Ashley Massaro posted on her Myspace account that she was leaving WWE to care for her ill seven-year-old daughter as a single mom, which doesn't enable her to go on the road any longer.

Also, the update says Melina is slated to be out five months with her ankle injury.

I didn't even know Ashley had a kid.

If anyone is interested in making a donation, I've put the address for a memorial fund for James Melroy (Tripp McNeely, etc.) on the thread in Sports and News. Any contributions are welcome. Thanks.

Those guys are great. Before WrestleMania 22, I was writing a preview of the show for my high school newspaper. I dropped some writers from that site a few questions to answer if possible and I got some extensive, well-thought out responses quickly.

It has to be the best wrestling site out there in terms of quality and breaking stories.

Also, ECW posted a 1.4 rating, which is apparently a huge increase. See Vince, creating new stars and excitement = fan interest and increased ratings. Too bad Tuesday show was terrible, featuring a main event of Mark Henry squashing Colin Delaney. Atleast one of my personal favorites, Atlas DaBone, finally made his debut.

  8. Some of their columnists are awful, though, and impossible to satisfy.

Case in point, one of them's been screaming "Push CM Punk!" since he debuted two years ago.

This week? He was whining because they didn't do it right.

Some people (Internet wrestling community nerds, mostly) are upset that Punk didn't win the title in a long match with a clean finish, that booking him to win it by beating Edge after he got beaten up by Batista made him look weak. Considering that's how Edge won two of his titles, I thought it made perfect sense, plus it makes Punk look smart for jumping in right there and then instead of challenging him at the next off-major PPV. So I'm plenty fine with it.

Y'know, that's how I found my snobbery is reaching ridiculous levels.

I began to get texts at work - "Awesome," "HOLY SHIT," the like - and turned the TV to USA to see what had happened. While I was happy to see CM Punk get the strap, my first thought was 'He needed a Batista assist? The same way RVD needed an Edge assist to win the belt?'

I'm a whiny frickin' snob, man.

According to f4wonline.com: WWE and Trevor Murdoch have parted ways.

No more concerts from Trevor Murdoch? He did sing country well, actually.
