2008 Running Pro Wrestling Thread

Worse than "I'm an ass man!"?

 

The American Males theme just screamed "Sissy Boy." That made "I'm an Ass Man" seem like Randy Savage's WWF theme.

Also in the list of worst:
*Kennedy's new theme
*Jonathan Coachman
*Too Cool
*3-Count (still kinda funny though)
*Dean Malenko's WWF theme (though I did like the Mal-lovable, Mal-kinky on the JumboTron).
*X-Factor

 

If only more of them could get actual songs as themes.

My favorites, in no particular order:

- 'Walk' by Pantera (Van Dam)
- 'Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck' by Prong (Credible)
- 'Perfect Strangers' by Deep Purple (Douglas)
- 'Natural Born Killers' by Ice Cube and Dr. Dre (New Jack)

 

Creed did the Edge song? Color me shocked.

 

It's Alter Bridge, which is basically Creed with Myles Kennedy on vocals instead of Scott Stapp. I love their stuff...Black Bird is a great album.

 

I know. That sucked. Leave it to the WWE to ruin a good thing.

 

Pretty bad, but I always thought 'Ass Man' was semi, semi-catchy (roughly 4 percent on a scale of 1-100 in percentage of coolness, American Males ranks a 1 out of a 100)

And I never understood what Billy Gunn meant when he was called, "The One." "The One" What?

I was watching the old AWA reruns they're showing on ESPN Classic every night and the entrance music for the original Samoan Swat Team, managed by former Freebird Buddy Roberts?

Don't Worry, Be Happy.

 

That's fantastic.

 

I remember that. I also remember the bizarre sight of Buddy Roberts wearing a Samoan straw skirt while wearing a Confederate flag bandanna on his head.

 

Yep. That and the SST (again with Roberts in tow) feuding with Michael PS Hayes and some slapdick named Steve Cox.

This was at the tail end of the AWA's great run, obviously, and was taking place in Memphis I believe.

 

Yeah, who the heck was Steve Cox, and what the hell does 'Do it, to it,' mean?
