For the love of God, turn HHH heel.

He's 100 times better as a heel. Some guys are just better heels than they are faces. HHH is one of those guys.

I didn't have a problem with Cena winning the Rumble. Let's face it, the WWE needed Cena back. And it was nice to be suprised for a change. We don't have the opportunity to be surprised by wrestling that often anymore because of the spoilers on the internet. In a way, I felt like I was 13 years old tonight because I had no fucking clue Cena was coming back this soon.

The only difference was that Vince McMahon wasn't yelling "anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation!" through my TV.

Any chance they'll do the right thing and move Hardy to Smackdown to feud with Edge?

Maybe around draft time? That could be a good feud too. But the WWE has their heart set on Undertaker vs. Edge at WrestleMania. I don't know where Hardy fits in during all this.

I was thinking earlier and you know what would be pretty cool? Jeff Hardy wins the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania. Randy Orton beats an injured John Cena in the grueling main event. After the pinfall, Hardy emerges from backstage and cashes in his shot at the title and there's a Rumble rematch right there. Of course Hardy wins it somehow, maybe with the help of Matt.

You know, I can buy that. WWE would naturally want Hardy for the ladder match and still allows him to see some reward for the amazing pop he's brought to RAW in Cena's and HHH's absence. He finally wears the belt and someone else will eventually take it, but at least he would have finally gotten his chance.

Here's hoping that theory comes true.

And perhaps most importantly to the WWE, it doesn't make Orton look bad since he had just wrestled a main event caliber match and prevailed against Cena. Plus, a little revenge from Matt would be a nice touch for what happened earlier this year.

I could see Jeff and Matt embracing in the middle of the ring after that match, tears welling up in their eyes as the fans going crazy while giving them a standing ovation.

  6. It's a great idea that unfortunately will never happen, especially at a Wrestlemania. But I think Hardy will win MITB at Mania and will cash it in to face Cena. But then you have two faces squaring off and that never seems to turn out well.

I think Jeff be back in the main event card around May/June once again. So far he's gotten a great start to the New Year.

  8. Edge vs Taker is the right move for Mania. Taker has the unbeaten streak at WM and Edge has never lost a straight-up match either on that show.

There's no reason to think Taker won't retire undefeated at WrestleMania.

I'm watching the PPV now. Did Mysterio get booed or what? Holy shit, every move he did was getting hissed at and a loud "LET'S GO EDGE!" chant broke out.

I enjoyed Flair vs. MVP. Crowd was really into it and it was a fun, fast-paced opener. Jericho vs. JBL was sloppy like expected (a badly missed bulldog by Jericho that JBL sold resulted in a chorus of MSG boos) but it wasn't a complete trainwreck either as it was a decent bloody brawl.

Santino was fantastic as usual and schooled the stunned New York fans: "Mets...Yankees...CHOKERS! Ohhhh a mosquito, I'm scared, let's lose the playoffs. Knicks, Rangers...not even good enough to be chokers. In fact, the only thing you have to cheer for is a football team from New Jersey! Oooooohhhhh Eli, Brandon, Plaxico...they sound more like hairdressers than athletes to me!"

Cena was a huge, awesome shock. Wrestling fans love surprises like this. I think WrestleMania just got a whole lot more interesting.

A few thoughts after the Rumble:

-- Definitely surprised to see Cena, and good to see him win. Part of me thinks they'll end up doing a triple-threat at Wrestlemania, with Orton, HHH and Cena. Hopefully they'll keep it just Orton and Cena, though. Winning the Rumble should mean you get a one-on-one shot.

-- I hope Jeff Hardy does win the MITB match. I was disappointed in his match with Orton, and it definitely didn't set things up for another match. Of course, they've set it up so pretty much no one kicks out after an RKO. At some point, they have to have him drop the IC belt in a screwjob and move up to main event status full-time or they need to get a good angle going with the IC strap. Not sure who to put him up against now (Kennedy?), but they need to decide which way to go with him.

-- Speaking of Kennedy, I'm wondering if they're going to keep Kennedy-HBK going to Wrestlemania or start up a Kennedy-Flair angle. Could be interesting to see what they do there. Of course, they could put Kennedy in the MITB, too, and let him win it again so he actually could use his shot himself this year.

-- Watching the Rumble, something occurred to me. We keep talking stables on here, and I was thinking, given the right set-up, a heel turn for Cody Rhodes might be interesting. Pair him up with Orton as the head of a stable and push him for the IC belt, then add in a tag team (Cade and Murdoch?). If they wanted to push Rhodes, this could be an interesting way to do it.

-- I think Taker-Edge could be good, but I'm dying to see C.M. Punk-Edge. Could be classic.
