I'll join in on the Flair list...

    1. Ricky Steamboat (Two of the top five matches of all time in my book)
    2. Dusty Rhodes (Flair gave him a couple of classics)
    3. Sting (That first Clash match and feud over 90 was great)
    4. Harley Race (Great build towards Starrcade 83)
    5. Wahoo McDaniel (The first feud to elevate Flair after the plane crash)
    6. Terry Funk (Two words. Five letters. I quit.)
    7. Roddy Piper (Great in the late 70s/early 80s)
    8. Blackjack Mulligan (The Hat vs. The Robe)
    9. Randy Savage (Nice feud in '92 and later in WCW)
    10. Ricky Morton (The Charlotte cage match was one of the best I've seen)

Honorable Mention: Barry Windham, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Lex Luger, Kerry Von Erich, Dick Slater & Bob Orton, Brody (Flair noted in his book that they had some quality matches in Puerto Rico), Nikita Koloff, Ronnie Garvin, Edge (The TLC match was sick)

  2. I see your point on the Hogan statement, although I have him at No. 8 because their feud was anticipated for so long. But I cannot see how Sting is not in your top 10??? I think he makes most people's top 5.

Didn't the barbershop incident happen in the 90s? I don't remember seeing that at all recently ...

I thought about Wahoo, and now I'm convinced he should be in the top 10.

Not as sold on the Von Erichs. He didn't get enough time with David before his death, Kerry was too fucked up to get much out of, if the stories are true, and I don't remember a lot of Ric-Kevin matches.

If there's one feud in wrestling history I would love to have booked that never happened: Ric Flair vs. Tully Blanchard for leadership of the Horsemen

That would have been a feud for the ages.

It happened in the end of 1991. I remember being shocked that the Flair/Michaels match happened on a TV taping, instead of the usual jobber squash. Jannetty did something that cost Michaels the match. That, along with other stuff in tag matches (storyline related) led to their breakup on the Barbershop.

I freely admit being raised on WCCW makes me biased. But the Kerry Von Erich - Flair match at Texas Stadium in 1984 was as good a match, crowd-wise, as I've ever seen. Of course, David Von Erich's death had a big part in that.

I just get amused by how certain wrestlers personally offend the very core of Harley's soul. He's a passionate man.
