    My top five:

    LSU
    Mizzou
    Oklahoma
    Texas
    Tennessee

Okay, I mean Texas Tech at 5.
So yes, I do have 4 Big 12 schools in my top 5. I know that won't stay that way long, but right now I think they are all pretty decent and am not sure who is going to beat who. Honestly, I hope OU, Texas and Tech all lose their next games, just from a personal standpoint as I'm not a big fan of any of them. Sam with Penn State.
Thought about leapfrogging Bama to 2-3 or so, but really I never have thought Georgia was a legit Top 10 team. So I just moved up the teams naturally instead.
Slots 8-25 were not easy. Who gets in, who drops out? Ultimately, I'll admit to being the one person here having given TCU a vote since preseason, and the hammering the Frogs took by OU dropped them down to 25 for me. But since I really believe OU is that good, it was hard for me to justify dropping them completely out.
Tulsa, Ball State and even Northwestern all got serious considerations from me, although none of them got in.

No not Duke. Something that ends up in my toilet after a bad night of mexican food doesn't belong in the Top 25.

    ...

    Dookie?

    Get it?

    Whatever.

Here's what Slappy got this week from me ...

    1. Oklahoma
    2. LSU
    3. Missouri
    4. Texas
    5. Alabama
    6. South Florida
    7. USC
    8. Auburn
    9. Penn State
    10. Florida
    11. Georgia
    12. Utah
    13. BYU
    14. Kansas
    15. Ohio State
    16. Vanderbilt
    17. Wisconsin
    18. Texas Tech
    19. Virginia Tech
    20. Boise State
    21. Fresno State
    22. Oregon
    23. Illinois
    24. Maryland
    25. Wake Forest

Welcome: No. 19 Virginia Tech, No. 24 Maryland
Gone Like The Mets On The Last Day Of The Baseball Season: ex-No. 21 East Carolina, ex-No. 23 Nebraska
    Last team out: Northwestern (really!)

Simmering: (no particular order) Tulsa, Oklahoma State, TCU, Air Force, Cincinnati, Ball State, Connecticut, Northwestern, Arizona State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina, East Carolina, Ole Miss.

"Leapfrogged": (winning teams that leapfrogged other winning teams from the previous week's poll)

-- Penn State leapfrogged Utah and BYU (Utah struggled somewhat to beat Weber State, BYU was idle, and neither has yet proven worthy of the top 10. Good win for PSU over Illinois and its mauling of Oregon State looks better in hindsight)

-- Ohio State leapfrogged Vandy and Texas Tech (FRAUDS!).

-- Virginia Tech leapfrogged all winning schools below them. (Gutty win at Nebraska cancels out early last-minute loss to ECU)

-- Boise State and Fresno State leapfrogged Oregon (market correction, should never have had Oregon over Boise to begin with. Fresno made the jump for an impressive schedule and road win at UCLA)

BYH Memorial Fraud Alert: Texas Tech remains in this hotseat. I am patient. As ever, they don't play anyone worth even half-a-shit until Oct. 11 when Nebraska visits beautiful Lubbock. They'll probably win at home and everyone will go ga-ga for no good reason. Then when they got punked at Kansas two weeks later, everyone will wonder what happened.

In the non-Texas Tech division, having South Florida at No. 6 doesn't sit well for me at all. They've earned it by attrition and that usually spells trouble.

    Random Former Football-Playing School:
    Xavier

    1. LSU +1
    2. Oklahoma +2
    3. Texas +3
    4. Alabama +15
    5. Missouri +2
    6. Texas Tech +3
    7. USC -6
    8. Penn State +2
    9. Georgia -6
    10. BYU +2
    11. Florida -6
    12. Auburn -1
    13. Ohio State -
    14. South Florida -
    15. Kansas -
    16. Boise State +4
    17. Oregon +4
    18. Utah +5
    19. Virginia Tech +3
    20. Wisconsin -12
    21. Fresno State +3
    22. Vanderbilt +3
    23. Wake Forest -7
    24. Oklahoma State NR
    25. Northwestern NR

Biggest leap: Bama's two road wins were huge
Biggest drop: Wiscy's collapse was ... less than huge
    Entering: Okla State, Northwestern
    Leaving: East Carolina, Clemson

Dropped Auburn -1 despite a victory, because two of Aubie's wins (vs. Tenn, at MSU) have been very unconvincing.
LSU back at No. 1 for the fourth time in six weeks. (USC had been in top spot for last two weeks.)

If I were a pollster, I wouldn't rank Maryland. Need a couple more wins to make up for losing to Middle Tennessee.
