Senor Petty, it was just a question. I just couldn't put USC in the top 10 after that loss and was curious why other people thought they deserved to be there.

Your answer was exactly what I was looking for. Didn't intend to stir shit up.

Don't worry about him, KY. He eats beef "barbecue." His opinions are skewed.

All kidding aside: I think Ball State finally has a legitimate program that ironically doesn't have the schedule to show it off.

They're not a fluke. We've seen it coming for a while now with near misses against Michigan in 06 and Nebraska last year.

What's unfortunate is now that they have a team, they don't have those big games on their schedule as they did in years past. Last year it was Illinois, IU and Nebraska. The year before that it was Purdue, Michigan and IU.

This year? IU's the only substantive non-conference foe (though that win against Navy all of a sudden has a bit of significance, given their win over Wake Forest.)

I don't know the reason why this year's schedule is weak. It's not like we duck teams. Next year we travel to Auburn.

So I don't blame people for not giving them a ranking - especially now that their best player will never play football again - but to completely write them off is a bit foolish.

I am extremely liberal when it comes to barbecue: Beef or pork or chicken ... mustard-based or tomato-based ... dry rub or liquid sauce ... as long as you got it in the smoker for a few hours, I'll eat it. :D

true that, tommy boy. not a clue what he's thinking. but whatever - I'll have his share.

(and I didn't vote ball state, for the record, and believe sc should still be up there ... but for the first time I did give notre dame a few points in the 'others' category, so I guess it balances out.)

I hear Songbird, Connecticut, is a pretty place.

So, who's taking the over tonight? I'm not. Just asking who is. I'll live vicariously through you.
