So what do you base it on, cause it sure as hell ain't strength of schedule?
PSU creamed Oregon St. (2-3), Illinois (3-3) and Wisconsin (3-2), neither of which has proven to be a powerhouse win.
Someone mentioned they throttled everyone they have played. Yup, Old Purdue (2-4) sure took it on the chin ... 20-6? Puh-leaze.
Coastal Carolina, Cuse and Temple? Powers...
Oh, yeah there is no doubt PSU should be a top 3 team. No doubt (blue font).
PSU is ranked is as high as it is because of past performance, not in spite of it. Ball State is unbeaten and it ain't in the top 15. They have played foes every bit as tough as PSU.
Have the Lions played a team with a winning record?
So please justify for me how they deserve to be a Top 3 team.

Now, I've convinced myself... Slap, is it too late to change my PSU vote?

I didn't say they deserved to be a Top 3 team. Just said it's crazy to base your ranking of a certain team in a certain week based on what they did last year, or three years ago, or 20 years ago.

Then how would you do a preseason poll?

BTW: I based my PSU ranking on the post outling their 2008 foes... The post highlighting their stellar track record of failure in the Big Ten, especially Columbus is just added fodder.

I wouldn't do a preseason poll. I'd wait until the end of September before ranking the teams.

    Nice work.

Who the hell gave the Lions a No. 1 vote?
