I had it the same way and after I submitted my ballot, I admit, it gave me pause. I know mine had to do with Missouri being so high and Oklahoma State being so low the previous week and when I closed the gap, I didn't think about the obvious.

If I had it back, I'd probably reverse them. Then again, I think Missouri will be better than Oklahoma State in the final balance.

In case you wondered why South Carolina's votes came from ...

You say goodbye: Wisconsin and Vanderbilt (I hated myself last week for finally ranking the Commies. Saturday, my gut suspicion was confirmed. They might STILL finish 5-7.)

I say hello: SoCar and 'Sota.

    FALSE! BLACK BEAR!

Michigan lost to PSU in 1995. Lloyd Carr was coaching Michigan in 1995.

Oh, it gave me a lot of pause. What convinced me to leave Missouri ahead was that its overall body of work is superior to Oklahoma State's, despite the head-to-head loss. Mizzou's best wins: vs. a then-ranked Illinois team (3-3) and a blowout victory at Nebraska (3-3); Oklahoma State's best wins: at Wazzu (1-6) and vs. Texas A&M (2-4).

A road win at Columbia is huge, and is the reason the Cowboys moved up eight spots (and leapfrogged a couple teams) for me this week.

But like Bubbler, I think Missouri will be better than Oklahoma State in the final balance -- this was just an in-conference hiccup, which has happened to just about every good team so far. The Cowboys just haven't done enough this season to warrant being ranked higher than Missouri yet. But if their resumes even out and it comes down to those two at some point, then head-to-head will matter more.

All well and good, hope you treated the losses by Southern Cal, Florida and Georgia similarly.

    At Nos. 5, 7 and 8, respectively, I think I did. Thanks. ;)

Based on the accumulated performances of, ohh, about the last 40 years, Sparty remains on the Fraud List. If they beat Ohio State this week, they're the real deal.

They won't beat both Ohio State and Michigan, or at least history has shown us they won't -- simply because they're Sparty.
If they do, more power too them. It will be good to see more than 40,000 people in Sparty Stadium for the last game of a meaningless the season for a change.
But Sparty won't run the table.

IF Sparty beats OSU this week -- they are, I believe, a 5-point dog -- I see no reason to think they simply won't crush Michigan. Michigan is a real, real bad team at this point.

But, if they lose to the Bucks, especially in a meltdown/blown lead fashion -- I could see all their confidence melting away almost instantly, in one of their customary, "hey remember, we're Sparty, we can't really be any good, can we?" collapses. Losses to Wisconsin and Purdue would be on the table, too.

I don't see them beating Penn State in the season finale in any case.
